Signature themes
During coaching journeys with me, some topics regularly appear more often than others. For each of the areas below, I offer a semi-structured coaching journey with a clear focus and overarching theme, and enough openness to follow what emerges along the way.
Inner critic
Discovering a different role for your Inner Critic
We often try to silence our inner critic, argue with it, or make it go away. And most people find that this doesn't work. The inner critic’s voice just keeps coming back.
In our work together, we take a different approach. Instead of fighting your inner critic, we explore her or his origins and what it might be trying to protect you from, helping you understand what they are trying to tell you. This shift in perspective can lead to a quieter, steadier confidence that isn't dependent on being perfect.
Resilience
Understanding what carries you and building on it
Resilience has become somewhat of a buzzword, often used as a synonym for being able to cope with more and carry heavier loads while complaining less. However, it is neither a character trait you either have or don't, nor a superpower or a sticking plaster we apply when we've been holding a lot for a long time. Resilience is made up of several distinct capacities, and each of them can be explored and developed.
We start our work by exploring your individual resilience profile: how you regulate yourself under pressure, where your sense of self-efficacy sits, how much your relationships support you, how you orient towards finding solutions, and how connected you feel to your values. From there, we work with your resources and the things that already carry you and strengthen what needs it. The result isn't a better sticking plaster or thicker skin. It's a more grounded core, built on a clear and realistic understanding of what holds you up and what you’re able and happy to deliver.
Rest
Finding your natural ability to pause (again)
For many people I work with, rest feels like a luxury at best or a failure at worst. There's always that one more thing to finish, that one more person who needs something or that one more reason why now isn't the right time to pause. And even when pausing, the mind may keep running, and rest easily becomes another thing you're not doing well enough.
It doesn’t have to be that way. In our work together, we explore your relationship with rest, what makes it difficult and what beliefs stand in the way. And we’ll explore and look at types of rest that suit you and help you recover and restore.
Anxiety
Exploring how to work with it, not against it
Anxiety often hides well. From the outside, you're performing, delivering and holding it together. Inside, you may experience a racing mind, an always-on scanning for what could go wrong or a tension that never quite leaves. These are quite common experiences, and worth having a closer look at.
In our work together, we explore what your anxiety is responding to. This could be work deadlines, social situations or a more general self-doubt. And we develop ways to meet your anxiety with understanding, not to make you carefree, but to give it a good place.
Transitions
Discovering the space in between
Whether chosen, natural or just happening, transitions often don’t feel the way we expect them to. Even change we’re excited about may come with a sense of loss, and long-awaited steps can feel disorienting as you take them. So you may find yourself in that space between ‘no longer’ and ‘not yet’.
That in-between space often feels uncomfortable, but it's also the space where a lot happens. In our work, we look at both parts of the transition: the place you're leaving and exploring what you're moving towards. You will discover what you want to carry with you, what you're ready to let go of, and how you shape what's next.
Intercultural Coaching
For individuals leading international teams, working globally, or experiencing cultural transitions
Working across cultures is more than knowing the etiquette or a list of how-tos. The challenges are rarely where the guidebooks say they are and they can be surprisingly personal, touching on identity, belonging, and the question of how much of yourself to adapt and integrate. In our work together, we explore your specific situation and identify what you find challenging or uncomfortable in intercultural contexts, building (cultural) awareness and confidence to navigate cultures effectively.
Having lived and worked across cultures for more than 20 years and being an Intercultural Trainer, I understand the territory, challenges, and rewards that come with it and am well placed to support you on your intercultural journey.
